POSITION PURPOSE (Summary)
Prepare a variety of espresso beverages, flavored teas, Italian sodas, fruit smoothies for staff and visitors to Northern Montana Hospital, while creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere within the 3rd floor main lobby.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/LICENSURE/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
(Education, License / Registration, Experience, Knowledge and Abilities)
- High school diploma or its equivalence
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to learn and follow directions
- Be able to accept responsibility and practice dependability
- Practice accepted hygiene standards for food service workers
5. Good verbal and communication skills to work with and relate to a diverse group of people
- Willingness to maintain a cheerful demeaner and welcoming atmosphere to all customers and visitors at
NMHC under times of stress and high customer volume
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary job functions include….
- Preparation of Espresso Cart for opening & closing for each day of business
A. Operation of the Espresso Cart during set business hours
B. Maintenance cleaning of the cart at regular intervals
C. Initial straightening of 3rd floor visitor lobby and breakroom before housekeeping arrives (during slow periods of operation)
2. Safeguard and maintain accurate record of sales & receipts
- Balance till slip with receipts at the end of each day
- Deposit proceeds at the business office at the end of each shift
- Leave change bag and key with Nutrition Service Supervisor to lock up
3. Communication:
- Utilize effective verbal skills in communicating with customers, visitors, co-workers and managers.
- Keep abreast of organization communications and communicate pertinent information to other members of the organization through regular use of in-house e-mail system.
4. Growth and development:
- Take responsibility for continuing education as appropriate.
- Attend educational programs as requested.
- Participate in yearly facility mandatory updates.
- Identify own learning needs and communicates same to supervisor.
5. Professional decorum:
- Maintain professional appearance through dress and personal hygiene.
- Act as an advocate of NMHC’s entities and all the services it provides.
- Conduct self as a professional in interactions with all co-workers, customers and other visitors.
6. Productivity, Efficiency, and Safety:
- Report for duty as scheduled.
- Report on time as scheduled.
- Use equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently. Assure equipment is in proper working order by requesting service through Building & Grounds when needed. Maintain supplies as needed by preparing a list of items to order for the Nutrition Services department .
- Complete duties in a timely fashion.
- Consistently exhibit a positive attitude in providing customer service.
- Fulfill additional duties and responsibilities as assigned and as necessary.
- Maintain open line of communication with immediate supervisor, Director of Senior and Volunteer Services, and members of the Nutrition Services team.
