  1. POSITION PURPOSE (Summary)

 

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assistance to the physician in the delivery of medical care, assistance to the patient in compliance with and understanding of that care and assistance in running an efficient and professional practice.  Immediate supervisor is Northern Montana Medical Group Nursing Supervisor.

 

  1. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

(Education, License / Registration, Experience, Knowledge and Abilities)

  1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  2. Registered nurse currently licensed to practice nursing by the Montana State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  1. OSHA CATEGORY CLASSIFICATION

 

Category classifications have been developed to assist employees in determining their risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.  These categories are:

 

Category I        Employee will have occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the performance of their routine jobs.

Category II       Employee may have occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the performance of their routine jobs.

Category III     Employee will not have exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the performance of their routine job.

 

  1. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Scope of practice includes performing various medical procedures, general nursing duties, and any other duties that enhance the care of the patient and the function of the doctor’s practice.
