Registered Nurse - NMCC

 

 

POSITION PURPOSE (Summary)

 

Assesses, plans and directs resident care under direction of unit manager.  Supports the mission and nursing philosophy of Northern Montana Care Center.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

(Education, License / Registration, Experience, Knowledge and Abilities)

 

  1. Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  2. Current license to practice as RN in State of Montana
  3. Provide telephone number.

 

 

OSHA CATEGORY CLASSIFICATION

 

Category classifications have been developed to assist employees in determining their risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.  These categories are:

 

Category I        Employee will have occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the performance of their routine jobs.

Category II       Employee may have occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the performance of their routine jobs.

Category III     Employee will not have exposure to bloodborne pathogens in the performance of their routine job.


 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Scope of practice includes but not limited to:

 

    • Implements and follows gerontological and nursing practice standards.
    • Provides accurate and timely documentation of resident care including MDS care plans and summaries.
    • Has knowledge of and provides demonstration of understanding NMCC and NMHC policies and procedures.
    • Maintains open communication with medical staff.  Directs and carries out their plan of care.
    • Directs, supervises and evaluates unit CNA and Ward Clerk.
    • Works with other departments coordinating resident plan of care.
    • Accepts and completes all other duties as assigned.
