Nurse Coordinator - NMMG-West

POSITION PURPOSE (Summary)

 

A registered nurse who serves as a clinical and professional role model and consultant within the NMMG nursing unit.  Accepts 24 hour responsibility for the unit and is accountable for the nursing management of the NMMG Nursing unit to assure delivery of quality care for the well being of patients on the unit.  Maintains a positive clinical environment to promote cohesiveness within the unit, department, and organization.  Actively participates in hospital-wide committees.  Demonstrates ethical and appropriate behavior for the clinical environment to include (but not limited to) respect for the patients’ dignity; rights; privacy; age and other specific care needs; and maintenance of confidentiality of information.  Demonstrates a leadership style that supports and directs staff while fostering participative, autonomous, and achievement-oriented behavior.  Available to work variable hours, nights, days, or weekends as required by staffing needs.  Immediate supervisor is the Vice President Patient Care Services.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

(Education, License / Registration, Experience, Knowledge and Abilities)

a.       Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

b.       BSN preferred

c.       Registered nurse currently licensed to practice professional nursing by the Montana State Board of Nurse Examiners

d.       Minimum of four (4) years of nursing experience and for Dialysis Manager needs to have six (6) months experience in care of patient with permanent kidney failure, including training and experience with the dialysis process

e.       Demonstrates leadership abilities
