diabetes care

Bear Paw Hospice's purpose is to provide a caring, comfortable setting for the terminally ill and their families by providing professional services which focus on the quality of life, not the duration.

Working with local healthcare professionals (hospitals, nursing homes, medical staffs and volunteers), hospice provides a compassionate alternative to the traditional methods of terminal care.

goal
Bear Paw Hospice's goal is to offer rest and comfort to the weary traveler in the last days of life and support for the family and friends during the final stage of life.

Living Life Fully

Hospice care helps patients achieve physical and emotional comfort so they may concentrate on living life to the fullest. The patient is urged to stay active, take part in activities, learn something new, do something they have always wanted to do, and focus on the quality of life, not the quantity.

Care at Home

When possible, family and friends care for the dying person at home in familiar surroundings amid loved ones. This may draw families together and may help relatives and friends become less frightened about facing their own death.

Pain Control

A major fear of the terminally ill person is fear of pain. Relieving pain through medication is an important part of hospice care. Hospice care attempts to achieve constant pain control so patients can live their lives fully and pain-free.

Treating Patients and Loved Ones

Loved ones feel pain too; so hospice treats patients and their families. Hospice helps prepare families and friends for the loss of their loved one. Additional support is also provided through individual family counseling, volunteer visits, holiday programs, support groups and mailings about loss and grief.
