Barkus repeats win at Foundation golf tournament
Northern Montana Health Care Foundation held its 18th Annual Invitational Golf Tournament at Prairie Farms Golf Course on Saturday, Aug. 4. Eighteen teams gathered for a day of golfing and fundraising to support health care on the Hi-Line.
The Barkus Home Center Team took first place for the second year in a row. The team includes Murray Barkus, Brooke Grosskopf, Thomas Grosskopf and Matt Hedstrom. Second place went to the DCH Team and the NorthWestern Energy Team placed third. Carrie Kato was the winner of the chipping contest and Kim Evans and Gene Kenney won the longest drive competition.
Thomas Grosskopf was the lucky winner of the Las Vegas Getaway sponsored by Yellowstone Insurance Exchange RRG in the â€œclosest to the pin contest. Mike Evans and Brooke Grosskopf took won the Derby at the end of the day.
"This year's tournament was blessed with beautiful weather and, as always, a great group of teams," said Christen Obresley, Executive Director of the Northern Montana Health Care Foundation. "I am humbled every year by the support and generosity of our community, and I would like thank our teams, sponsors, volunteers and players for making the event possible."
Tournament contributors included: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana, Coca-Cola Bottling Company West, Culligan Water Conditioning Co., Eide Bailly LLP, Gary & Leo's IGA ~Fresh Foods, Hi-Line Radio Shack, Independence Bank, Prairie Farms Golf Course, Steve Mariani Insurance, Wells Fargo Institutional Trust, and Yellowstone Insurance Exchange.
