Northern Montana Hospital welcomes you to try out the new Montana Informed Patient web site: www.MTInformedPatient.org. MHA, An Association of Montana Health Care Providers, has created the new site with consumers in mind: “It is designed to help consumers navigate an increasingly complex health care system,” said Dick Brown, MHA President. Useful information regarding prescription medications, checklists for patients anticipating surgery, care planning, hospice, and wellness suggestions can be easily found. Whenever health care information is presented, remember to check with your own health care provider or pharmacist.

Limited Visit Notice
Children under 18 are not allowed to visit patients in the hospital or Care Center during flu season. Northern Montana Health Care has implemented limited visitation restrictions based on recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), our Infection Prevention and Control Department, and the Hill County Health Department.
The H1N1 virus appears to be widespread among children and young adults. By preventing this age group from visiting the hospital, we can significantly reduce the risk of our patients and their young visitors catching or spreading the H1N1 (Swine) Flu.
Even though children or adults may appear to be symptom free, they may still be contagious two days before the onset of symptoms. Pregnant women and babies have been identified to be at greater risk, so children, must not come into the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) areas.
We also ask that adults who have any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, sore throat, nausea, or diarrhea not visit patients who are in the Hospital or the Care Center.
Seasonal and H1N1 vaccines will be available through the Health Department and through Northern Montana Medical Group as soon as they become available. You may contact the community Health Dept. Hotline: 265-3635 for more information or Ginny Heberly, RN Infection Preventionist at 262-1426, or your health care provider. We ask all visitors to wash or sanitize their hands before and after visiting.
We appreciate your cooperation!
